Leaders Zejtun Corinthians defeated Swieqi United 2-1 at the Luxol Stadium to stay one point clear of second-placed Zabbar St. Patrick.
Alan Tabone on the 20th minute and Kumpei Tanaka on the 32nd minute gave the Corinthians a two-goal lead before Roderick Taliana reduced the gap for Swieqi United on the 45th.
In fact, in another match at the Luxol Stadium, Zabbar St. Patrick scored a late goal to beat Mellieha 2-1. Samuel Buhagiar opened the score on the 22nd minute and although James Borg equalised five minutes in the second half but Jean Claude Cesare notched the winner on the 90th.
A goal by Giovanni Galea on the 35th minute gave Qrendi a narrow win over Marsaxlokk at the Sirens Stadium.
Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Ghaxaq 4-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Andrea Sant gave the Saints a two-goal lead with goals on the 5th and the 19th. Ronnie Celeste made it 3-0 on the 37th and although Bjorn Dalli converted a penalty on the 57th, Keith Muscat restored the three-goal lead by making it 4-1 on the 90th.
Mgarr United came from behind to beat Attard 2-1 at the Charles Abela Stadium. Nigel Spiteri put Attard ahead on the 3rd minute but Kenneth Aquilina scored twice in two minutes between the 54th and 56th to hand Mgarr the three points.
At the Sirens Stadium, Siggiewi defeated Gudja United 2-1. Mark Camilleri put Siggiewi ahead on the 63rd, Dylan Tanti converted a penalty to level matters four minutes later but Mark Camilleri scored another ten minutes from time.
Zejtun lead the way with 41 points, followed by Zabbar on 40, Qrendi 37, San Gwann 34, Birzebbuga and Siggiewi 25, Swieqi23, Attard 18, Mgarr 16, St. George’s 14, Marsaxlokk 13, Mellieha 12, Gudja 9 and Ghaxaq 8.
