SK Victoria Wanderers through to FA Trophy semi-finals

Gozitan side SK Victoria Wanderers made history as they became the first Gozitan club to reach the semi-finals of the FA Trophy after defeating Premier League side Pembroke Athleta 2-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

The Wanderers, who had earlier eliminated Sta. Venera Lightnings, Melita, Mgarr United and another Premier League side – St. Andrews, managed to take the lead courtesy of an own goal by Miguel Attard. Three minutes in the second half, Predrag Djordjevic sealed the issue with a second goal.

Deep into stoppage time, Pembroke had Filippo Andrea Scozzese sent off by referee Eman Grech.
