Five Premier League players were banned by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following Wednesday’s matches.
Steve Borg (Valletta) was banned for four matches, Samir Arab (Balzan) for two matches while Steve Pisani (Floriana), Igor Misan (Hamrun) and Uchenna Calistus Umeh (Valletta) were banned for one match.
Borg is therefore ruled out of the next four matches against Gzira, Birkirkara, St. Andrews and Tarxien. Umeh is also ruled out of the clash against Gzira. Arab will skip the next two games against Birkirkara and St. Andrews. Steve Pisani will miss the game against Hibernians while Igor Misan is ruled out of the clash against Sliema.
Floriana team manager Anthony Grech Sant was banned for two matches.
Meanwhile in Division 3, Shawn Tanti (Dingli) was banned for four matches while Emmanuel Cutajar (Santa Lucia) was suspended for one match.
