Melita registered their first win as they defeated Rabat Ajax 4-1 in a direct clash at the Victor Tedesco Stadium between two teams chasing their first points in the BOV First Division.

Toraino Singleton was the hero for the Amateurs with a hat-trick, putting them ahead on the 14th minute. A minute later, Emilio Cornago San Pedro doubled the score and although Rabat reduced the gap thanks to an own goal on the 35th minute, Melita extended the lead once again with a penalty by Singleton just after Rabat had a player sent off and another goal by Singleton on the 72nd minute.

In another match, Mqabba registered a fine 3-0 win over Vittoriosa Stars thanks to goals by Tomislav Trebovac on the 45th and goals by Paul Chimezie – a penalty on the 54th and a goal nine minutes from time.

Qormi lead the way with 9 points, followed by Pietà on 9, Mqabba, Qrendi and Zebbug 7, Sirens, San Gwann and Zabbar 6, Zejtun and Vittoriosa 5, Melita 3, Marsa 2, Rabat 0 and Pembroke -2. Pembroke had ten points deducted.
