Xewkija Tigers needed extra-time to defeat Gharb Rangers 4-1 in one of the four BOV GFA Cup quarter-finals in programme during the weekend.
Josef Portelli put the Rangers on the 56th with Thiago Melo dos Santos equalising on the 72nd. Two minutes in the first half of extra-time, Joseph Mario Vella made it 2-1 for Xewkija with Rodney Buttigieg adding another four minutes later. Luke Cilia sealed the issue with a fourth goal on the 119th minute.
In another match on Sunday, Oratory Youths defeated Kercem Ajax 3-2. Radovan Duric put the Youths ahead on the 29th but Mario Mifsud equalised six minutes later. Bartomeu Perello Palou converted a penalty four minutes in the second half to restore the lead with Ognjen Rolovic equalising on the 72nd. However six minutes later, Ralph Ebube Okpokwu made it 3-2 for Oratory.
A goal by Saviour Attard three minutes from time gave Nadur Youngsters a narrow win over SK Victoria Wanderers on Saturday.
In another match, holders Ghajnsielem defeated Second Division side St Lawrence Spurs 3-0 thanks to goals by Everton Felipe Da Silva Santos after just two minutes, Jhon Jairo Sandobal Guarin on the 22nd and Kenneth Mercieca four minutes later.
