Six Premier League players suspended

Six Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Valletta defender Steve Borg was handed a two-match ban while Moises Avila Perez (Gzira), Daniele Biondo and Edison Bilbao Zarate (Mosta), Augusto Rene Caseres (Senglea) and Travis Blagrove (St. Andrews) were suspended for one match.

Borg is ruled out of Valletta’s next two games against Mosta and Senglea. Biondo and Bilbao Zarate are also ruled out of Mosta vs Valletta. Avila Perez misses the game against Lija, Caseres the clash with Sliema and Blagrove the game against Hibernians.

Meanwhile St. Andrews physical trainer Alejandro Pantoja was banned for two matches.

In Division 1, Melita coach Andrea Pisanu was banned for four matches. Dylan Agius (Pietà), Zachary Tanti (Rabat), Alan Borg (San Gwann) and Christian Pace (Zebbug) were all suspended for one match.

In Division 2, Luke Micallef (Attard) was handed a one year ban while Darrell Grech and Lesley Cassar Jackson (Birzebbuga) Glendon Refalo (Gharghur) and Jesmar Briffa (Kalkara) were banned for one match. Luqa assistant coach Andrea Chircop was also suspended for one year while Attard assistant coach Daniel Agius was suspended for six matches.

In Division 3, Matthew Schembri (Ta’ Xbiex) and Dylan Darmanin (Zurrieq) were both suspended for one match. Dingli official Carmelo Muscat was also handed a one match ban.
