BOV Division 1: Mqabba return to winning ways

Mqabba returned to winning ways in the BOV First Division as they came from behind to defeat Pembroke Athleta 4-2 in one of the two BOV First Division matches at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Njongo Priso gave Pembroke a two-goal lead as he opened the score on the 25th minute and made it 2-0 three minutes in the second half. Paul Chimezie reduced the gap a minute later and Michael Borg equalised on the 58th. Paul Chimezie was quick to put Mqabba 3-2 ahead on the hour and Gianfranco Micallef sealed the issue with a fourth goal three minutes from time.

In another match, Zabbar St. Patrick collected three precious points in a 2-1 win over Melita .

Nestor Luis Silva Canas put Zabbar ahead on the 6th minute and Shalon Diacono doubled the score on the 18th. Luke Micallef pulled one back on the 33rd.

Qormi lead the way with 35 points, followed by Mqabba on 31, Pietà 30, Zebbug and Vittoriosa 24, Sirens and Zejtun 20, Qrendi 19, San Gwann 18, Pembroke and Zabbar 13, Melita 11, Marsa 10 and Rabat 4.
