Zebbug Rangers extended their positive run to seven matches as they defeated Pietà Hotspurs 3-1 in one of two matches from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.
Zebbug scored twice before the 43rd and 45th thanks to Larson Mallia and Aud-Gustin James Obaje. Ryan Micallef increased the lead eight minutes in the second half with Juan Manuel Artiaga Roa reducing the gap for Pietà Hotspurs on the 61st minute.
In another match, Marsa held Vittoriosa Stars in a 2-2 draw. Following a goalless first half, Paul Lapira put Marsa ahead five minutes in the second half but Obinna Obiefule converted a penalty to level matters and Kieran Degiorgio made it 2-1 five minutes from time. However Luka Mijic notched the equaliser for Qrendi on the 90th.
Qormi lead the way with 35 points, followed by Mqabba on 31, Pieta 30, Zebbug 27, Vittoriosa 25, Sirens and Zejtun 20, Qrendi 19, San Gwann 18, Pembroke and Zabbar 13, Marsa and Melita 11 and Rabat 4.
