Tarxien take on Lija Athletic in basement clash

Tarxien Rainbows will be all out to claim the three points on Friday as they take on Lija Athletic at the Centenary Stadium.

The Rainbows are currently second from bottom on 15 points, two behind St. Andrews, one behind Naxxar Lions and ten ahead of Lija. They are coming from a 0-2 defeat to Valletta after earning five points from their previous three matches in draws with Senglea and Sliema and a win over Naxxar.

Lija, on the other hand, are coming from ten consecutive defeats. Ten games in which they suffered 35 goals and scored just five. However in the first round, they managed to beat Tarxien 3-2.

Ebiabowei Baker is ruled out for Tarxien as he serves a one-match ban but welcome back Sean Cipriott after missing the last three matches.
