The football season in Gozo kicked off on Wednesday with the GFA Super Cup as champions Victoria Hotspurs defeated Xewkija Tigers 4-2.

The Tigers had a perfect start, taking the lead on the 1st minute thanks to Darko Kristic. However Chris Camilleri equalised on the 7th and Stanimir Miloskovic made it 2-1 on the 24th. A brace by Elton da Silva on the 39th and 42nd put the Hotspurs 4-1 ahead by half-time.

Eleven minutes in the second half, Owen Spiteri reduced the gap for Xewkija.
