Narrow win for Valletta Futsal as Elite Round kicks-off

Valletta brought a memorable 2018 to an end as they won their first match of the Elite Round by defeating Tarxien Rainbows 2-1. The latter played a very good game and managed to reduce their only goal thanks to Joselito Aguilera. Jovica Milijic’s brace handed the Citizens the three points.

Luxol St. Andrews kept the pace with the leaders thanks to a 9-1 win over University of Malta Students while Birkirkara joined Swieqi United in third place after beating them 4-2. 

Meanwhile in the First Division, Pietà Hotspurs found no difficulty in beating UM Futsal Academy 11-2 while Swieqi United U-21 beat Luxol U-19 9-3.

The Futsal league resumes on Monday 7 before taking another break between the 14th January and the 1st February, due to the Maltese National Team’s commitments for the FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifiers.
