Floriana secured the services of thirty-two year old defender Edward Herrera from Birkirkara.
A product of Melita, Herrera joined Pieta Hotspurs in summer 2006 on loan. He also spent 2007/08 on loan with the Hotspurs but in summer 2008, he was loaned to Hibernians. Herrera made a permanent move to the Paolites the following season. In summer 2012, he was transferred to Birkirkara where he spent the last five-and-a-half-years.
Throughout his career, Edward Herrera, who also played for the national team between 2009 and 2015, won the championship and the FA Trophy twice with both Hibernians and Birkirkara and the Super Cup twice with Birkirkara.
Earlier this month, Floriana have signed Argentine duo Gaston Ezequiel Cesani and Ulises Jesús Arias.
