Birkirkara FC reached an agreement with Floriana FC over the transfer of Malta international defender Clayton Failla. Failla signs a two and a half years contract with the Stripes.
This is the second transfer deal between the two clubs as last week, Edward Herrera moved in the opposite direction, joining Floriana from Birkirkara.
A product of St. Patrick’s, Failla made his Premier League debut in season 2004/05. He joined Hibernians in January 2005. In summer 2009, he moved to Sliema Wanderers but his stay lasted two years as he returned with the Paolites in summer 2011. Last summer, Clayton Failla joined Floriana.
With the Paolites, Failla won three championships, two FA Trophies and a Super Cup apart from being voted Footballer of the Year twice. He also won the Super Cup with Sliema.
The Stripes have earlier signed Bosnian midfielder Muamer Svraka.
