BOV Division 1: Sirens keep marching on

Leaders Sirens extended their impressive run in the BOV First Division as they score three in the dying minutes to secure another three points in a 4-1 win over Qrendi at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Abdullahi Ige Adeshina opened the score for Sirens on the 9th minute but Jonatan Silveira da Silva equalised on the 63rd. Sirens regained teh lead through Gaetano Gesualdi on the 82nd and goals by Angel Manuel Bustos on the 89th and Marco Antonio Morgon Filho on the 93rd sealed the issue.

Pembroke Athleta returned to winning ways thanks to a fine 2-0 win over Swieqi United courtesy of Eduardo Vallecillo Casado on the 10th and Yanis Tonna six minutes later.

In another match, Lija Athletic defeated San Gwann 2-0 courtesy of Erjon Beu on the 62nd and Abubakar Bello-Osagie on the 79th.

Sirens lead the way with 39 points, followed by Santa Lucia on 30, Gudja 29, Naxxar 26, Lija 25, Zejtun and Swieqi 23, Pembroke 20, Vittoriosa 19, Qrendi 17, Mqabba 16, Zebbug 15, San Gwann 13 and Marsa 5
