Xewkija hit seven past Gharb Rangers

Xewkija Tigers registered a most comfortable 7-1 win over Gharb Rangers in a match from the BOV Gozo Football League First Division at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Michael Camilleri put Xewkija ahead on the 8th minute and four minutes later, Claudio Antunes doubled the score. Junior Elisio Batista Da Conceicao pulled one back for Gharb on the 29th minute but a minute later, Claudio Antunes made it 3-1 with Daniel Bogdanovic converting a penalty on the 42nd. One minute in the second half, Michael Camilleri increased the lead with Rodney Buttigieg adding another on the 75th before Bogdanovic scored a seventh goal on the 83rd minute.

In another match on Sunday, leaders Victoria Hotspurs defeated SK Victoria Wanderers 2-0 in the derby thanks to a brace by Ferdinando Apap on the 2nd and 39th.

On Friday, Nadur Youngsters defeated Munxar Falcons 4-1 courtesy of Marcelo Barbosa on the 15th, Jefferson de Assis on the 20th and the 40th and Shaun Attard on the 75th with Diego Martins De Souza reducing the gap as he converted a penalty in added time.

In another match, Ghajnsielem beat Kercem Ajax 2-0 thanks to Ali Oularbi on the 5th and Antoine Camilleri on the 26th.

Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Xaghra United moved one point behind leaders Sannat Lions as they defeated Oratory Youths 3-0 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium, courtesy of Johnny Camilleri on the 23rd and 57th (penalty) and Kenny Hili on the 82nd.

In another match, goals by Muda Fagbeja on the 4th minute and James Grima on the 73rd gave St. Lawrence Spurs a 2-0 win over Zebbug Rovers
