St. George’s defeated Fgura United 2-0 at the Luxol Stadium on Sunday to join them in second place, one point behind leaders Mgarr United in the BOV Second Division. However, Fgura and St. George’s still have a game in hand.
Leeroy Bonett opened the score on the 15th minute and a Dylan Caruana penalty sealed the issue on the 57th.
In another match, Luqa St. Andrews and Marsaxlokk shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, goals by Andy Portelli for Luqa on the 8th and Timmy Thomas for Marsaxlokk on the 14th.
Mgarr lead the way with 48 points, followed by Fgura and St. George’s on 47, Marsaxlokk 41, Birzebbuga 40, Melita 36, Rabat 31, Kalkara 23, Mellieha 22, Luqa 20, Zabbar 19, Sta. Venera 16 and Siggiewi 13.
