Sirens were declared champions following a goalless draw with Vittoriosa Stars in one of the three matches from the BOV First Division at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.

Meanwhile Santa Lucia moved closer to securing the BOV Premier League Play-Off spot after defeating Marsa 6-0. Luis Diego Mosquera Segura put Santa Lucia ahead on the 32nd and seven minutes later, Nick Borg doubled the score. Jackson David Usuga Mendoza made it 3-0 six minutes in the second half. Mosquera Segura scored a fourth goal on the 68th and four minutes later, Kevin Ante Rosero made it 5-0. Paul Lapira added another on the 78th minute.

Naxxar Lions kept the pace with Santa Lucia in the battle for third place after defeating Swieqi United 2-1. An own goal put Naxxar ahead on the 56th and an own goal restored equilibrium on the 94th. However Saturday Nanapere scored on the 96th minute to hand Naxxar the three points.

Sirens lead the way on 56 points, followed by Gudja on 49, Santa Lucia 45, Naxxar 42, Pembroke 38, Zebbug 36, Lija and Swieqi 34, Mqabba and Zejtun 31, Vittoriosa 28, Qrendi 26, San Gwann 19 and Marsa 5.
