Hibernians crowned Women’s Under-19 League champions

Hibernians were crowned champions in the Women’s Under-19 League Section A.

The Paolites maintained an unbeaten record throughout the season, dropping only six points in two draws with runners-up Mgarr United and another with Birkirkara.

Mgarr lost their first match to Raiders (Luxol) but then won eight of the next nine matches, dropping two points in a draw with Mgarr. A 3-6 defeat to Birkirkara practically handed the title to Hibernians.

Birkirkara placed third followed by Raiders (Luxol) and Gozo.

Mgarr United’ Haley Bugeja finished as top scorer with 41 goals ahead of Birkirkara’s Kailey Wilis on 17 goals and Thea Borg of Gozo FC on 13.

Meanwhile in Section B, Mosta emerged as winners after claiming maximum points in the second phase, including a 2-0 win over Kirkop United who finished second ahead of Swieqi United and Zebbug Rangers.
