Two new foreign players for Gzira United

After signing Brazilian left-back Arthur Henrique Oyama, Gzira United secured the services of two midfielders – Hamed Koné and Elvis Sakyi.

Thirty-one year old attacking midfielder Hamed Koné hails from Ivory Coast. He started his career with JMG Abidjan but at the age of seventeen moved to Thailand to join Chonburi. He had spells on loan with Home Utd of Singapore and Gainare Tottori of Japan where he was eventually transferred. His first experience in Europe was with Slavia Sofia in Bulgaria but later played for FC Clinceni and FC Voluntari in Romania. He had a spell with Dibba Al Fujairah before returning to Europe to join Nuorese. In January 2018, he moved to KF Feronikeli of Kosovo. Last summer, he joined Neuchatel Xamax in Switzerland but returned back with Feronikeli in January.

On the other hand, twenty-two year old Ghanian midfielder Elvis Sakyi started his career at Cheetah FC in Ghana before joining Maltepespor Kulubu in Turkey.
