Yuri de Jesus Messias is officially a Valletta FC player after agreeing a one-year deal with the club. Valletta have an option for a second year.

The twenty-seven year old Brazilian winger had moved to Malta in summer 2013 to join Mosta FC. The following season, he joined Msida St. Joseph where he spent two years before moving to Naxxar Lions where he spent another two years. Last summer, he was reportedly close to joining Valletta but eventually opted for Nadur Youngsters. In the January transfer window, he moved to Saudi Arabia where he was playing for Al Jabalain.

Earlier in his career he played for Boavista FC, Imperial FC and CS Paraibano.

The Citizens had earlier announced the signing of Kevin Tulimieri and Douglas Packer while extending the contract of Santiago Malano.
