Edin Murga returns with Mosta

Mosta FC continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Edin Murga and Sergio Leonardo Villarreal Ruiz.

Edin Murga returns with the club after playing for the club during seasons 2015/16 and 2016/17 following a spell with Birkirkara.

The twenty four year old forward had started his career with Zeljeznicar in Bosnia Herzegovina and then played for Sarajevo before moving to AEK Athens in Greece. Following a spell with Vendsyssel in Denmark, he moved to Malta to join Birkirkara in summer 2015 but a few weeks later was loaned to Mosta. Murga returned to Bosnia Herzegovina to play for Mladost Kakanj but re-joined Mosta for another spell in season 2016/17. He left the club mid-way through the season and since then played for FK Bosna Union in Bosnia Herzegovina, BV Essen in Germany and NK Visoko and FK Tuzla City in Bosnia Herzegovina.

Twenty-four year old Colombian Sergio Villareal is a former Under-20 international and throughout his career played for Milionarios, Fortaleza and Cucuta Deportivo

Last week, Nigerian midfielder David Nworah Ifeanyi also re-joined the club. Nworah started his career at Enugu Rangers in Nigeria and later played for Gabros International in Nigeria, OC Safi in Morocco, Golden Arrows in South Africa and East Riffa in Bahrain before starting his first spell at Mosta in December 2016. Two months later, he moved to Al Oruba Sur in Oman. He returned to Mosta in summer but in summer 2018, moved at Al Ansar in Saudi Arabia.

The club had earlier signed Mamadou Salieu Jallow, Gilberto Carrara Martins Leite and Weverton Gomes Souza. Goalkeeper Andreas Vella and Rafael Morisco da Silva, Jonas Rodrigues Ekani and goalkeeper Stephane Bitseki Moto signed new deals with the club.
