Kalkara is the only team with maximum points after two matches in the BOV Second Division after they defeated Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 3-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Monday.
Kalkara took the lead thanks to Emmanuel Mbong on the 28th minute and Larson Mallia doubled the score on the 41st. Christopher Cutajar pulled one back for Birzebbuga on the 53rd but Emmanuel Mbong made it 3-1 on the 74th minute.
In another match, Luqa St. Andrew’s and Marsa shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Dario Aquilina put Luqa ahead on the 5th minute but an own goal on the 12th minute restored equilibrium. Luqa regained the lead through Samba Camara on the 27th and Dario Aquilina made it 3-1 one minute from the end of the first half. However Marsa hit back with a brace by Erik Pietribiasi on the 56th and 57th.
Kalkara lead the way with 6 points, followed by Zurrieq, Xghajra and Melita on 4, Marsa, Rabat and San Gwann 2, Zabbar, Mgarr, Luqa, Birzebbuga and Mellieha 1 and Marsaxlokk 0.
