After earning their first win in a 2-0 win over Balzan on Sunday, Gzira United will be hoping to make it two wins in a row as they take on champions Valletta at the National Stadium on Thursday, kick-off at 19:00.
The Maroons were held in four draws in their first four matches – four matches in which they had scored just one goal and conceded one. Against Balzan, they finally managed to break the duck with two goals late in the game. Therefore against Valletta, they will be all out to gain another three points to prove that the Balzan win was no fluke.
However, Valletta are eager to get the three points from the game after collecting only eight points from their first five matches – two wins over Sliema and Balzan, draws with Floriana and Birkirkara and a defeat to Santa Lucia in the opening game.
