Nadur Youngsters and Ghajnsielem are the only teams with maximum points after two matches in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division after they registered wins over Xaghra United and Kercem Ajax.
On Monday, Nadur defeated Xaghra 5-0 courtesy of a Marcelo Barbosa penalty on the 44th and goals by Johan Alberto Castano on the 52nd, Marcelo Barbosa on the 75th, Hugo Santa Rosa Cruz on the 76th and Predrag Djordjevic on the 81st.
On the other hand, Ghajnsielem beat Kercem 2-1 on Friday. Igor Nedeljkovic put the Blacks ahead on the 4th minute and Kurt Grima doubled the score on the 83rd with Andrea Debrincat scoring a consolation goal deep into stoppage time.
Champions Victoria Hotspurs and Xewkija Tigers shared the spoils in a goalless draw on Sunday while in another match, a brace by Igor Misan on the 15th and 71st gave SK Victoria Wanderers a 2-1 win over Gharb Rangers with Pablo Vinicius Ferreira converting a penalty for Gharb on the 38th.
Meanwhile in the BOV Gozo Football League Second Division, Oratory Youths defeated St. Lawrence Spurs 2-1 at the Kercem Ajax Stadium on Saturday.
Charlon Farrugia put St. Lawrence ahead on the 18th minute but Bartomeu Perello Palou equalised on the 38th and on the 62nd minute, Perello Palou converted a penalty to hand Oratory the three points.
In another match, Zebbug Rovers defeated Munxar Falcons 3-1. Elijah Xuereb opened the score for Zebbug on the 17th and five minutes later, Tiago Barbosa doubled the scoring. Nine minutes in the second half, Cleiton Jose Hinrichs pulled one back for Munxar but Tiago Barbosa sealed the issue on the 87th.
