The Malta Under-21 side lost 4-0 to Finland in another match from Group 8 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifying round at the Veritas Stadion in Turku on Thursday.
The hosts took the lead mid-way through the first half, scoring another two goals within fourteen minutes to go 3-0 ahead. They extended the lead further with another goal mid-way through the second half.
Jasin Assehnoun put Finland ahead on the 24th minute and Benjamin Källman doubled the score on the 32nd. Six minutes later, an own goal by goalkeeper Andreas Vella put the hosts three goals ahead. Onni Valakari scored Finland’s fourth on the 66th minute.
