Naxxar Lions and Qrendi emerged as winners in the two matches in progamme from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.

Naxxar Lions registered a fine 3-0 win over Qormi. Darren Falzon put Naxxar ahead on the 24th minute, Edson Cerqueira Farias doubled the score on the 66th and eleven minutes later, Joel Ellul added another.

In another match, Qrendi beat Swieqi United 3-1. Stefan Radovanovic gave Qrendi the lead on the 14th and Alex Nilsson doubled the score on the 55th with Bydasser Sammut scoring a third four minutes later. Felipe Nunes Fernandes scored a consolation goal three minutes from time.

Lija lead the way with 12 points, followed by Qrendi on 10, Naxxar 9, St. Andrews, Qormi and Pieta 7, Pembroke 6, Zejtun, Zebbug and St. George’s 5, Swieqi 4, Fgura 3, Vittoriosa and Mqabba 1.
