St. Andrews and Pietà Hotspurs moved second, joining Qrendi, two points behind leaders Lija Athletic in the BOV First Division in two of the matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.
St. Andrews defeated Zebbug Rangers 2-0. Joseph Farrugia put St. Andrews ahead on the 18th minute and Kemar Reid doubled the score on the 83rd.
Goals by Jose Lucas Caetano da Silva on the 38th and Clyde Bouvet on the 61st and 93rd gave Pietà Hotspurs a 3-0 win over Vittoriosa Stars.
In another match, Zejtun Corinthians and Pembroke Athleta shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Rafael de Fex Mariaga put Zejtun ahead after just one minute but Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza was quick to equalise four minutes later. Adrian Carabott restored the lead for the Corinthians on the 76th but one minute in added time, Mattia Zarb restored equilibrium for Pembroke.
Lija lead the way with 12 points, followed by St. Andrews, Qrendi and Pieta on 10, Naxxar 9, Pembroke and Qormi 7, Zejtun 6, St. George’s and Zebbug 5, Swieqi 4, Fgura 3, Mqabba and Vittoriosa 1.
