Ylenia Carabott joins Chievo Fortitudo

Malta international striker Ylenia Carabott joined Italian Serie B side Chievo Fortitudo Women.

Chievo Fortitudo Women, earlier known as Fortitudo Mozzacane joined forces with Chievo Verona this summer after the latter club

This will be third experience abroad for the thirty year old Carabott as earlier in her career, she had short spells with Alby FF and Ange IF in Sweden.

A product of Hibernians, Carabott won all the major honours with the Paolites before her move to Birkirkara on loan last season. After winning the double with the Stripes, she was transferred from Hibernians in summer.

Ylenia Carabott will be the fifth Malta national team player to play in Italy this season. Shona Zammit signed for Pink Bari in the Italian Serie A, Martina Borg is currently playing for Sassari Torres in the Serie C while Nicole Sciberras joined Juventus where she is playing for the Primavera side. On the other hand, Emma Lipman has been playing in Italy for the past two years, turning out for AGSM Verona, Roma and now at Florentia San Gimignano
