Gzira seek win to keep pace with leaders

Gzira United will be aiming for a fourth consecutive win on Saturday as they take on Gudja United (kick-off at 15:00) in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium.

Lying in third place together with Mosta and Sirens, Gzira are the only team apart from leaders Floriana who still holds an unbeaten record following four draws and three wins. A win over Gudja would enable them to cut the gap with the leaders back to four points.

Gudja, on the other hand, are still chasing their first win, suffering three defeats in their last three outings after earning four points in four draws.

Meanwhile in the second match, kick-off at 17:15, Valletta take on bottom-placed Tarxien Rainbows.

The Citizens are curently sixth on 11 points but failed to impress in recent outings. They won just three out of the seven matches played so far and against Tarxien, they seek a comfortable win which would boost their morale.

Tarxien, on the other hand, lie at the bottom of the table without any points. In seven matches, they scored seven but conceded twenty goals.
