Birkirkara, Mgarr United fire blanks in big match

Birkirkara and Mgarr United shared the spoils at the Mgarr Ground on Tuesday in the big match of Match-Day 3 of the BOV Women’s League.

Haley Bugeja put Mgarr ahead on the 27th minute but Ann-Marie Said equalised seven minutes from the end of the first half.

Swieqi United joined Birkirkara and Mgarr on top thanks to a 5-0 win over Kirkop United at the Charles Abela Stadium.

Goals by Jade Flask on the 5th minute and the 20th minute gave Swieqi a two-goal lead. Former Kirkop striker Demi Magrin scored the third goal for Swieqi on the 67th while Malta captain Dorianne Theuma opened her Swieqi account thanks to a direct freekick on the 85th and a penalty on the 90th.

Meanwhile in the Women’s Under-19 League, Swieqi United maintained their perfect record after four matches thanks to a 7-0 win over Hibernians.

Mgarr United beat Kirkop United 5-0, Raiders Gharghur defeated Mosta 5-2 while Birkirkara registered a 15-0 win over Mtarfa.

In the Women’s Under-15 League, Raiders Gharghur and Swieqi United lead the way with maximum points from two matches as they defeated Mtarfa 14-0 and Kirkop United 8-1 respectively.

Zebbug Rangers claimed their first points thanks to a 10-0 win over Mosta while Mgarr United beat Senglea Athletic 8-0 to also open their account.
