Gzira United, Hamrun Spartans chase maximum points

Gzira United and Hamrun Spartans will be all out to claim the three points on Friday as they take on Tarxien Rainbows and Santa Lucia at the Centenary Stadium, kick-off at 18:00 and 20:15 respectively.

The Maroons won their last four matches after four draws in the first four matches and target another win over the Rainbows in order to move, at least temporarily, to just one point behind leaders Floriana.

Tarxien, on the other hand, continue to chase their first point after losing the first eight matches and conceding twenty three goals.

Gzira will be unable to field their best formation due to the absence of Gianmarco Conti and Jefferson de Assis.

Meanwhile in the second match, Hamrun Spartans will be hoping to return to winning ways after dropping two points in a goalless draw with Birkirkara last week to fall into fourth place.

Santa Lucia are currently tenth on nine points after losing three out of the last four matches and are therefore desperate for points in order to steer away from the danger zone. They won just one out of the last seven matches.

Nicola Leone is ruled out for the Spartans as he serves a one-match ban while Manuel Bartolo is recovering from an injury.
