BOV Division 2: Kalkara hold Marsa in 3-3 draw

Marsa regained sole leadership in the BOV Second Division but could only earn a point in a 3-3 draw in one of the three matches in programme at the Centenary Stadium on Sunday.

Larson Mallia put Kalkara ahead on the 34th but Mark Gauci equalised three minutes from the end of the first half. Aaron Agius made it 2-1 for Kalkara on the 55th but four minute later Paul Lapira equalised. Larson Mallia put Kalkara ahead for a third time on the 66th but ten minutes from time, Ryan Previ restored equilibrium.

A brace by Anthony Chimezie Ewurum handed Marsaxlokk a 2-0 win over Mgarr United. Ewurum scored after just two minutes and once again three minutes in the second half.

Birzebbuga St. Peter’s registered a fine 3-1 win over Mellieha. Sam Kind put Birzebbuga ahead on the 65th and although David Fenech equalised on the 72nd, Jean Claude Cassar made it 2-1 for Birzebbuga on the 79th and Gary Caruana sealed the issue with another goal on the 90th.

Marsa lead the way with 15 points, followed by Melita on 14, Marsaxlokk 13, Mgarr 10, Rabat 9, Birzebbuga 8, Kalkara, San Gwann and Zurrieq 7, Mellieha 6, Xghajra 5, Luqa and Zabbar 4.
