Marsaxlokk moved on top the BOV Second Division as they defeated Rabat Ajax 4-0 in one of the three matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Sunday.

An own goal just before the end of the first half paved the way for Marsaxlokk who increased the lead through Anthony Ewurum on the 55th and a Ryan Micallef brace on the 64th and 84th.

Goals by Kenneth Aquilina on the 35th and Mark Abela on the 63rd handed Mgarr United a 2-0 win over Birzebbuga St. Peter’s.

On the other hand, Xghajra Tornados defeated Mellieha 4-0 courtesy of a Nestor Luis Silva Canas penalty on the 53rd, Miguel Scicluna on the 68th and a brace by Royter Degiorgio on the 83rd and 86th.

Marsaxlokk lead the way with 16 points, followed by Marsa on 15, Melita 14, San Gwann and Mgarr 13, Zurrieq 10, Rabat 9, Birzebbuga and Xghajra 8, Kalkara 7, Mellieha 6, Luqa and Zabbar 4.
