Gharghur, Ghaxaq and Siggiewi kept the pace with leaders Attard in the BOV Third Division on Saturday.
Gharghur came from behind to beat Marsaskala 3-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Joseph Chetcuti put the Southseasiders ahead on the 7th minute but Xavier Jean Leite Lopes equalised on the 28th. Omar Smeir made it 2-1 on the 48th and Glendon Refalo sealed the issue with a third goal on the 75th.
Siggiewi defeated Msida St. Joseph 2-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Ronnie Celeste scored twice on the 15th and the 26th with Lian Xuereb reducing the gap for Msida one minute from time.
A goal by Paul Paris on the 19th minute handed Ghaxaq a narrow win over Sta. Venera Lightnings at the Sirens Stadium.
Dingli Swallows returned to winning ways as they defeated Ta’ Xbiex 5-1 at the Luxol Stadium. Karl Cilia converted a penalty on the 8th minute and Daniel Cilia scored three on the 12th, 15th and 73rd to extend the lead to 4-0. Kalil Guilherme da Rosa reduced the gap on the 76th but two minutes in added time, Gianluca Theuma scored Dingli’s fifth.
Attard lead the way with 15 points, followed by Gharghur, Ghaxaq and Siggiewi on 13, Kirkop 11, Msida 10, Marsaskala 9, Dingli 6, Mtarfa 3, Sta. Venera and Mdina 2, Ta’ Xbiex 0.
