The Malta Under-19 side lost 0-2 to Cyprus in the last game from Group 6 of the UEFA Under-19 Championship qualifying round at the Stadio Valentino Mazzolo in Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy on Tuesday.
Following a goalless first half, Cyprus took the lead six minutes after the break through Thomas Nikolaou and one minute in added time,
Andronikos Kakoulli sealed the issue with a second goal.
Malta therefore finished bottom of Group 6 without any points following the 2-0 defeat to Italy and 3-0 defeat to Slovakia.
