FA Trophy: Remaining eight spots in the fourth round at stake

Seven Premier League clubs will be among sixteen teams chasing a place in the fourth round of the FA Trophy as eight third round matches are scheduled for Sunday.

Sliema Wanderers vs Santa Lucia, kick-off 14:00 Centenary Stadium
Sliema and Santa Lucia meet for the second time in a week after the Blues registered a 4-0 win. One point separates the two teams in the BOV Premier League with Santa Lucia lie second from bottom and Sliema joint-third from bottom. However while Sliema are coming from back-to-back victories, Santa Lucia lost five out of the last seven matches.

Floriana vs Melita, kick-off 16:15 Centenary Stadium
The BOV Premier League leaders are still unbeaten in eleven matches although they were held in two draws in their last two outings. Melita, on the other hand, are currently sixth in the BOV Second Division on 14 points and are coming from back-to-back defeats. In the FA Trophy second round, Melita defeated Zurrieq 2-0.

Kercem Ajax vs Sirens, kick-off 13:00 Gozo Stadium
Sirens are currently fourth in the BOV Premier League and are unbeaten in four matches with two wins and two draws. Kercem, on the other hand, lie in fifth place in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division with two wins and three defeats from five matches. Kercem reached this stage of the FA Trophy after defeating Kirkop United 3-2, Munxar Falcons 5-0 and Fgura United 2-1.

Xewkija Tigers vs Mgarr United, kick-off 15:00 Gozo Stadium
Xewkija are currently second in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division, winning four of the five matches played, dropping their only points in a draw. They made it to the third round of the FA Trophy after beating St. Lawrence Spurs 5-0, Gharb Rangers 2-0 and Birzebbuga St. Peter’s 7-2. Mgarr, on the other hand, share the top spot in the BOV Second Division with Marsa, winning six of their last seven matches. In the previous round of the FA Trophy, they defeated Ghaxaq 5-1.

Zejtun Corinthians vs Hibernians, kick-off 14:00 National Stadium
After winning five out of the last six matches, Zejtun are currently second in the BOV First Division, one point behind leaders Lija Athletic. In the second round of the FA Trophy, they eliminated Naxxar Lions, beating them 2-1. Hibernians, on the other hand, lie in fifth place in the BOV Premier League, five points behind leaders Floriana. They won three out of the last four matches, dropping the only points in a draw with Floriana.

Birkirkara vs Nadur Youngsters, kick-off 16:00 National Stadium
Two wins in their last two outings enabled Birkirkara to climb to the eighth place in the BOV Premier League but still lie a distant twelve points from leaders Floriana. Nadur, on the other hand, lead the way in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division with maximum points from five matches. In the previous rounds of the FA Trophy, Nadur defeated Oratory Youths 4-0 and Vittoriosa Stars 3-0.

Zebbug Rangers vs Victoria Hotspurs, kick-off 14:00 Victor Tedesco Stadium
Zebbug are currently seventh in the BOV First Division but won three out of the last four matches. The Hotspurs, on the other hand, lie in third place in the BOV Gozo Football League First Division. In the previous rounds of the FA Trophy, Zebbug defeated Kalkara 3-1 while the Hotspurs beat Mdina Knights 7-0, Siggiewi 4-0 and Xaghra United 3-0.

Rabat Ajax vs Mosta, kick-off 16:15 Victor Tedesco Stadium
Rabat are currently fifth in the BOV Second Division and are coming from back-to-back wins. They reached this stage thanks to a 4-1 win over Gharghur. Mosta, on the other hand, share the eighth place in the BOV Premier League with Birkirkara after suffering three consecutive defeats.
