Swieqi United registered a second win on the trot in the BOV First Division as they defeated Fgura United by the odd goal in five in one of the two matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.

An own goal win the 16th minute put Swieqi ahead and Shaun Bugeja doubled the score on the 34th. Fgura pulled one back through a Philip Chircop penalty and Sergio Hili equalised on the 73rd. However two minutes in added time, Marko Ivanovic notched the winner for Swieqi.

In another match, Naxxar Lions and St. George’s shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Edson Cerqueira Farias put Naxxar ahead on the 79th minute but Takumi Hiruma equalised one minute from time. 

Lija lead the way with 22 points, followed by Zejtun on 21, Naxxar and Qrendi 20, Pieta’ and St. Andrews 17, Swieqi and Zebbug 14, Pembroke 13, Mqabba and St. George’s 10, Qormi 9, Fgura and Vittoriosa 7.
