Sirens test for Birkirkara

Birkirkara will be hoping to bounce back from the defeat to Sliema Wanderers last week as they take on Sirens in one of the three matches from the BOV Premier League in programme on Friday.

In the other two matches, Santa Lucia face Balzan while Hibernians take on Gzira United.

Santa Lucia vs Balzan, kick-off 14:00 at Hibernians Stadium

Santa Lucia will be hoping to halt their disappointing streak which saw them lose six out of the last eight matches, winning none. This winless run saw them fall from joint-leaders to second from bottom. Balzan, on the other hand, are currently seventh on 15 points but won just one out of the last five matches. A win is a must to move further up the table.

Hibernians vs Gzira United, kick-off 16:00 at Hibernians Stadium

Four points separate the two teams as Gzira are currently second on 25 points, three behind leaders Floriana, while Hibernians are fifth on 21. The Maroons won seven out of the last eight matches while the Paolites are unbeaten in five matches with three wins and two draws. Gzira will be all out for the three points in order to keep the pressure for the leaders while Hibernians eye precious points in their bid to close in on the top two.

Hibs could not count on the suspended Leonardo Nanni.

Birkirkara vs Sirens, kick-off 14:00 at National Stadium

Lying joint-fourth from bottom, Birkirkara are desperate for points as they aim to climb further up the table to safer waters. However this will be no easy task as Sirens are currently third in the table on twenty four points, eleven ahead of the Stripes and are unbeaten in five matches, winning three of the games. Birkirkara, on the other hand, won two out of the last six matches.

Flavio Cheveresan is ruled out for Sirens as he serves a one-match ban.
