Hibernians cruise past neighbours Tarxien

Hibernians extended their positive run to eight matches with a third consecutive win as they found no difficulty in beating neighbours Tarxien Rainbows 4-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Paolites had a perfect start, taking the lead on the 2nd minute when Jake Grech advanced on the right with two defenders trying to halt his run and served the unmarked Imanol Iriberri on the left who slotted past the helpless Matthew Towns.

Hibs doubled the score on the 17th minute when Jurgen Degabriele entered the area from the right and Imanol Iriberri, once again left unmarked, slotted the ball past Rudy Briffa.

Three minutes from the end of the first half, Hibernians scored the third goal. Destin Mambouana slipped in midfield and Jake Grech advanced all alone on the left before hitting past the Tarxien goalkeeper.

Hibernians made it 4-0 on the 76th minute thanks to Jurgen Degabriele who scored from close range following an assist from the left by substitute Myles Beerman despite Rudy Briffa and Destin Mambouana’s desperate attempts to clear the ball into safety.
