Thirteen Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner on Wednesday.
Paul Fenech and Steve Pisani (Balzan), Cain Attard (Birkirkara), Tiago Adan Fonseca (Floriana), Juan Andres Bolanos (Gudja), Rodolfo Soares (Gzira), Darren Borg and Clayton Failla (Hamrun), Gabriel Aquilina (Mosta), Luis Riascos and Farid Zuniga (Santa Lucia), Marcelo Dias (Senglea) and Romario Lucas Memezes (Sirens) are therefore ruled out of the next round of matches.
Hamrun will be lacking Borg and Failla for the game against Tarxien, Soares will skip the clash with Sliema, Aquilina and Dias are ruled out of Mosta vs Senglea. Bolanos, Riascos and Zuniga are ruled out of the derby Santa Lucia vs Gudja. Tiago Fonseca will skip the derby against Valletta. Sirens could not count on Romarinho for the clash with Hibernians. On the other hand, Fenech, Pisani and Attard are ruled out of the clash between Balzan and Birkirkara.
In Division 1, Clayton Giordmaina (Lija), Quincy Bregman (Pieta’), Andrew Agius (Qrendi), Clive Brincat and Samuel Buhagiar (Zebbug) were banned for one match while St. George’s manager Keith Darmanin was suspended for two matches.
Antoine Attard (Melita) was suspended for one match in Division 2 while in Division 3, Nicolai Sammut (Attard), Kenneth Ekezie (Kirkop), Bennett Schembri (Marsaskala), Matthew Borg (Msida), Bjorn Chetcuti and Ryan Zammit (Mtarfa) were suspended for one match. Ta’ Xbiex official Giuseppe Barone was handed a two-match ban.
