Hibernians dropped two important points in the race for the championship as they were held in a 1-1 draw by Senglea Athletic at the Hibernians Stadium on Sunday. A draw which leaves the Paolites four points behind joint-leaders Floriana and Valletta As they join Sirens on 31 points who, however, have a game in hand.
This was therefore another setback for Stefano Sanderra’s side following last week’s defeat to Sirens. On the other hand, Senglea earn a precious point although they remain second from bottom on 16 points, one behind Sliema, two behind Gudja, three behind Hamrun and four behind Santa Lucia.
A penalty by Jake Grech after just seven minutes put the Paolites ahead but Jose Wilkson Teixeira levelled matters on the 37th minute.
