A goal just before the end of the first half by Bydasser Sammut handed Qrendi a narrow win over Zejtun Corinthians in a match from the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Thursday.

This was the second successive defeat for the leaders after losing narrowly to Qormi in their last outing.

Meanwhile in another match, Pembroke Athleta defeated Fgura United 4-1.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza put Pembroke ahead on the 23rd and Kyle Frendo doubled the sucre on the 31st. Glenn Azzopardi increased the lead on the 35th and five minutes later, Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos scored Pembroke’s fourth. Four minutes in the second half, Dennis Cartella pulled one back for Fgura.
