Floriana made sure of staying on top the BOV Premier League table as they returned to winning ways, courtesy of a 4-0 win over Tarxien Rainbows at the Hibernians Stadium on Friday.
The Greens dominated right from the start, scoring three in the first half and adding another in the second half to take home the three points after two defeats and a draw in the last three matches.
For Tarxien, this was the seventeenth defeat in nineteen matches as they remain anchored at the bottom of the table.
Floriana forged ahead on the 14th minute when off an assist by Stefano D’Agostino for Tiago Adan Fonseca on the right, the Brazilian advanced into the area before hitting past Rudy Briffa.
On the 29th minute, the Greens doubled the score thanks to Kristian Keqi who beat the Tarxien goalkeeper with a shot from the left.
Seven minutes from the end of the first half, Diego Venancio scored Floriana’s third goal with a great long distance freekick which saw the ball bouncing in front of the goalkeeper before ending at the back of the net.
The Greens made it 4-0 on the 67th thanks to Matias Nicolas Garcia who beat Rudy Briffa with a low shot from the edge of the area, from the right.
