MFA delegation in FIGC, Lega Pro discussions

A Malta Football Association delegation, led by President Bjorn Vassallo, had another meeting with top representatives of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and the Italian Lega Pro at the FIGC headquarters in Rome on Friday.

The discussions delved into a number of technical topics as outlined in the recently-signed Memorandum Of Understanding between the Malta FA and FIGC. The sharing of knowledge and expertise on technical and organisational matters underpin the MOU which aims to facilitate collaboration between the two national associations through exchange programmes involving managers and officials, technical experts, coaches, referees and players, in a variety of domains.

Francesco Ghirelli and Emanuele Paolucci, the President and General Secretary of the Lega Pro respectively, were present for Friday’s meeting which has been described as cordial and fruitful.

In November, Malta FA and Lega Pro officials met at the latter’s headquarters in Florence to discuss a reciprocity agreement based on a strong synergy between Maltese and Italian football with special emphasis on professional footballing development.
