Zejtun Corinthians regained the top spot in the BOV First Division as they defeated Mqabba 3-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday.

Neil Tabone put them ahead on the 33rd minute and although Neil Micallef equalised just before the end of the first half, two minutes in the second half, Joseph Jojo Ogunuppe restored the lead and Robeiro Santos do Nascimento sealed the issue with a third goal four minutes from time.

In another match, a goal four minutes in the second half by Kyle Frendo handed Pembroke Athleta a narrow win over Swieqi United.

Zejtun lead the way with 38 points followed by Lija on 36, Qrendi 32, Naxxar 31, Pembroke 30, St. Andrews 26, Pieta’ and Zebbug 24, Qormi and Swieqi 21, Fgura 19, Mqabba, St. George’s and Vittoriosa 16.
