Sliema Wanderers signed former Arsenal midfielder Denilson.

Denilson Pereira Neves, who is now thirty two, started his career at Sao Paulo but in summer 2006 was transferred to Arsenal. He moved back to Sao Paolo in 2011, first on loan and then on a definite transfer. In 2015, he joined Al Wajda in the UAE and following a spell with Cruzeiro on loan. In season 2018/19, he was on the books of Botafogo.

The Wanderers had earlier signed Sebastian Grech and extended the contract of veteran midfielder Edmond Agius.
