Hamrun Spartans sign two defenders

After deals to sign Montenegrin defender Darko Bulatovic and Ugandan defender Alex Kakuba fell through, Hamrun Spartans managed to secure the services of Macedonian central defender Nehar Sadiki and Brazilian left back Arthur Henrique. Their addition will definitely make up for the departure of Orestis Nikolopoulos who was set to stay with the club but opted to join Ayia Napa of former Hamrun coach Manuele Blasi.

Twenty two year old Macedonian central defender Nehar Sadiki started his career with FK Milano Kumanovo and later played for Rabotnicki Skopje, Euromilk Gorno Lisice and Renova Dzepciste.

Thirty three year old Brazilian left back Arthur Henrique Oyama Ricciardi started his career in Brazil, playing for Cruzeiro, EC Santo André, União São João EC and Grêmio before moving to Portugal to join CD Nacional. He moved back to Brazil to re-join Santo André on loan. Later he played for Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria and KSC Lokeren in Belgium, moving to Malta to join Floriana in summer 2018. Last summer, he moved to Gzira but was loaned to Sliema Wanderers in January.

The Spartans, now led by coach Mark Buttigieg, had earlier secured the services of Malta international players Juan Carlos Corbolan and Joseph Mbong, goalkeeper Jonathan Debono, Elkin Serrano Valero, Emerson Marcelina, Ige Abdullahi Adeshina, Marcelo Junior Barbosa and Imanol Iriberri.
