Sliema Wanderers continued to strengthen their squad with the signing of Dutch midfielder Danny Holla.

The 32-year old had started his career with Buitenboys and later played for FC Omniworld and FC Groningen at youth level. Later, he played for FC Zwolle, VVV-Venlo and ADO Den Haag before moving to England to join Brighton in summer 2014 where he spent two years. Holla then moved back to the Netherlands where he played for PEC Zwolle, Twente and Den Bosch.

The Wanderers had earlier signed Denilson, Nuno Malheiro, Riki Kakinuma Alessandro Milesi, Hugo Meira and young Sebastian Grech while extending the contracts of Antonio Stelitano and Edmond Agius.
