Valletta dropped another two points as they were held in a goalless draw by Gudja United at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday. A draw which leaves Jesmond Zammit’s side two points ahead of the Citizens.
The team led by Jesmond Zerafa created the better chances throughout the ninety minutes but they still failed to break the deadlock. They won just one out of the last five matches.
However, ironically, Gudja could have taken the lead on the half-hour through Gabriel Mensah who had an excellent chance to score but hit straight into the goalkeeper.
In the second half, Valletta pushed harder but this was not enough to penetrate the Gudja defence and goalkeeper Glenn Zammit who was in fine form.
