Women’s national team climbs sixteen places in FIFA Ranking

After two back-to-back wins away from home to Georgia and Israel, the Malta women’s national team climbed sixteen places in the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking and is now ranked 85th.

Malta, in fact, registered the biggest point gain (+37) and the biggest increase in places, along with Kosovo (+16).

Throughout the calendar year 2020, Malta drew 2-2 with Switzerland and then lost 1-2 to Turkey in two friendly matches in January. In the Women’s EURO qualifiers, Malta defeated Georgia 2-1 and then lost 2-3 to Bosnia-Herzegovina in March and following a 0-8 defeat to Denmark, defeated Georgia 4-0 in November and Israel 2-0 in December in two matches away from home.
